The Hirvonen family, four brothers and father-Ukko, live in Joensuu’s Rantakylä and run a small-scale business: “Dark liquor and little salt”. One day, a full load of booze is destroyed down to the last bottle, and the Hirvonen family fall heavily into debt to the local thugs, Sia and Limppu. In order to keep their business alive, the family Hirvonen decide to rob the local Alko for replacement liquor. The gig goes wrong when Ukko, a former bartender, gets excited to mix drinks from the fine wines on offer. The boys win acquittals for themselves, but Ukko ends up in prison. Without Ukko and in fear of creditors, the boys have to ride the wind. The situation is further complicated by the sudden move in with the boys by a little girl who grew up as behind the sofa, the guys’ half-sister – Saara. The most responsible of the brothers, Läde, decides to stand up. In order to get the guys together and create a sense of togetherness, he organizes housewarming, karaoke parties for his sister. The next morning, Läde wakes up to Saara’s wonderful karaoke singing and gets a desperate idea. He decides to train the girl teen star for the upcoming competitions, where there is a big cash prize on offer. Unfortunately, Saara happens to be morbidly shy and locks herself in the bathroom at the mere thought of performing. However, the boys’ homemade “Karaoke-Kid” teaching method is not enough to make the shy Saara a star class soloist. Laura is hired to help, a former child star who has lost her way. In order to even dream of the Helsinki final and winnings, Saara must first win the local qualifier in Joensuu. In addition, for example, the bailiff and Sia and Limpu have their own dreams of receiving the winnings.
