Teemu Liakka is nominated for the Best Cinematography category for his work on Tale of the Sleeping Giants

The Jussi candidates for the films of 2021 were chosen at the meeting of Filmiaura’s expert council. Teemu Liakka, the cinematographer of Tale of the Sleeping Giants, has been nominated as a Jussi nominee for best cinematography. The nomination came from a film shot in Lapland and the Arctic Ocean over two years. The Jussi candidates are selected annually by an expert jury consisting of professionals, together with Filmiaura’s board. The jury included the following professionals in the film industry: producer Kaarle Aho, director Ulla Heikkilä, screenwriter Jenni Toivoniemi, actors Jaana Saarinen and Amir Escandari, cinematographer Arsen Sarkisiants, editor Samu Heikkilä, composer Samuli Putro, costume designer Jouni Mervas, set designer Markus Packalén, sound designer Mikko Mäkelä, makeup designer Kata Launonen and film distributor Harry Päiväläinen. From Filmiaura’s board, the council included: Riina Liukkonen, Minna Lampolahti, Manna Katajisto, Lauri Nurkse and Hannele Marjavaara.

The Jussi gala will take place on Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Helsinki Cable Factory Merikaapelihalli.
