9th Company

The events of the film take place between 1988 and 1989, when Soviet troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan. Two eighteen-year-old youths meet each other in the barracks. Both boys have signed up as volunteers for “operation in Afghanistan” and both have their own reasons. They are sent to a training camp from where they are thrown directly into the infamous Ninth Division, which is made up of angry and unruly youths. The ninth division is always the first to be sent to the front to defend the honor of the motherland. There is no honor in this war, and soon the youth will not even have a country.
