The Rhythm

Pekka Karjalainen’s music documentary begins with the idea of the Irish musicologist, Professor John Blacking, who suggests that all music is fundamentally folk music, deriving its power from the moving human body and nature. “Rytmi” showcases music in vastly different and divergent contexts. The musical journey starts from Fatick in Senegal and continues through Bulgaria to Los Angeles, offering rhythms of music and life from six countries.
